Mood

Mood : an element that evokes certain feelings through words, description and setting

- ex. He was in a happy mood

- Common moods : Happy, sad, angry, cranky, joyful, gloomy, etc.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere is the emotional mood which is created by the literary work

- usually determined in the opening scene of a novel or a play

- it is also created by diction, description and setting.

- ex. It was a dark and stormy night

-ex. There was alot of tension in the room.
