Only Allowed to be Catholic and have to go to the Catholic Church

The Catholic Church was the ruler of everything and told people what to do.

During the Renaissance, religious leaders had a big deal of influence on government and other aspects of social and private life. Many popes and other important Church leaders came from the rich governing families in the city-states of Italy and in other countries of Europe.

Politics

The Catholic Chruch ruled everything

and if anyone opposed to what they said

they would get locked up or get a un-fair

punishment.

The Catholic Chruch and any other Leaders lived rich and live like kings and taking adventage of there power.

Between 1400 and 1600, there were more than thirty different popes, making much less stability in Church leadership than what we would expect from a Church today.
