CREATE UNIQUE WORKOUTS
WHEN AN ATHLETE IS BEING MOTIVATED TO PUSH PAST LIMITS SHE THOUGHT SHE HAD, SHE BEGINS TO BELIEVE SHE CAN ACCOMPLISH THINGS SHE ONCE THOUGHT IMPOSSIBLE.
-Catchers will invest in their workouts & themselves

-Once the fundamentals are learned, creativity begins

-See the value in developing & expecting more from your catchers

FRAMING DRILLS + VIDEOS
FRAMING PROGRESSION
FRUSTRATED WITH YOUR CATCHER'S POP TIME? WORK ON THEIR TRANSFERS!
TIPS FOR A QUICKER POP-TIME
-Have a quick & consistent training program
-Use your entire body
-Deflect the ball, never catch the ball
-Start rotating your body before the ball touches your glove
-Train your top half & bottom half independently AND cohesively
MY FAVORITE TRANSFER DRILLS
KNEE THROWING
PUSH with foot, not knee
back elbow slightly above shoulder
front arm
tight abs
hips up/not on feet
KNEE THROWING SKILLS & DRILLS
COMMUNICATION
-UMPIRES
-KNOW YOUR PITCHERS
-RELAY INFO TO DEFENSE
-HOW MANY ERRORS HAPPEN BECAUSE THE DEFENSE DOESN'T THINK AHEAD?
TALKING IS CONTAGIOUS
...at any age
hey, the game's still 60 ft turn left in T-Ball, right?
TRANSFERS + THROWING
body turned
-ERROR PREVENTION
-Use your catchers as examples for how hard your entire team should work
-Push them to accomplish things they once considered impossible
REACTION DRILLS + CIRCUITS
BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR DRILLS & CIRCUITS TO KEEP ATHLETES STIMULATED & DRIVEN.
THROWING: REAL TALK
-Throwing someone out is not about having the best arm, it's about using your body and being quick
-Do you want your athlete's to be quicker? Train Faster.
-It's what you do BEFORE you throw that sets you up for your throw.
-The Mirror is an athlete's best friend.
WE ARE DRIVEN BY THE WANT TO 'COMPETE AND BEAT' OTHERS; USE THIS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE WHEN TRAINING.
TRAIN OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
RISE BALL/DROP BALL
THROWING CIRCUIT
FULL THROWS + PICK-OFFS
CIRCLE BLOCK
PREPARING TO BE THE GAME CHANGER
SO ONE DAY YOU WILL BE
THAT COULD HAVE JUST BEEN A FOUL BALL.
THE NEXT PITCH COULD HAVE BEEN A HOME RUN.
BUT INSTEAD IT'S AN OUT; A MOMENTUM SHIFTER.
TRAIN YOUR CATCHER'S LIKE THEY ARE THE GAME CHANGERS.
AND THEY WILL BECOME THEM.
