This is a disorder characterized by significant anxiety which is educed by being exposed to the persons specific fear such as
Aichmophobia which is a fear of sharp things,
such as pencils, needles, knives, a pointing finger,
or even the sharp end of an umbrella
and different sorts of sharp edges

Is a state of physiological stimulation combined with feelings of dread, worry or uneasiness that something is wrong or that something is going to happen

Treatment of Achmophobia
This phobia is devolved mainly through classical conditioning as the person whom suffers from Aichmophobia would associate a negative emotion towards sharp objects in which the stimulus may have been generalized so the phobia is a much wider fear of things the most common reason for this would be from a traumatic experience that had happen at some point in their life which can be linked to the behavioral model.
Attentional bias can have a huge effect on the way a person will react to a situation , Attentional bias is known for the person with Aichmophobia to look out for the 'dangers' in the room such as sharp pencils or edges where someone who does not have Aichmophobia will be less likely to be looking out for such things. Parental modeling can have a potential effect on the person suffering as if the child sees the parent looking anxious when having needles the child may show some signs as the parent as where if the parent does not show any signs of distress the chil is less likely to have this phobia

There are many different ways of treating Phobias in the biopsychosoical framework.
The most common way of treating this phobia is through cognitive behavioral therapy in a well-thought-out and gradual development or increase over time/series of events or things, faces/stands up to the source of fear while learning to control their physical and mental reactions to it. By facing the extreme fear head on, the patient becomes comfortable with it and so that his or her at the beginning fears were not grounded in real or happening soon danger.
