We want to represent our artist as someone who lives in his own world and has a mind of his own. Commonly associated with someone with a mental disorder. We believed portraying this in a positive way is very unconventional. Doing this could appeal to a large audience.
For our star image we wanted to create an image that could be appealing to people to the age group of 15 - 25 year olds. We adhered this age group to our campaign based around a website, video and digi-pack. We didn't create our stare image based around one specific gender type, as we think that our star image can be suitable for males as well as for females. All three products in the campaign had to link together to create a seamless array of content based around are artist and star image that we wanted to portray. We believed a phsycotic and crazy style of personality would suit our artists image.
DJ Amnesia is breaking the conventions. Not many music videos have a man hanging from the ceiling therefore this USP is an alternative ideology. The artist. The close-up images of under water creatures featured on the digipak are unconvential and appeals to most of this audience aged between (15 - 18 ) ( 19 - 25) . The images link back to the themes of mental health and psychotic themes. In many ways the audience can see it as being alien like and be scared of it.
We have included an image of our artist on our CD digipack featured on the back cover. The artist would recognizable within the music industry, there are also similar photographs of him included throughout the website this helps to build his star image.
VALS, means values and lifestyle and is a proprietary research methodology used for psycho-graphic market segmentation. Market segmentation is designed to guide companies in tailoring their products and services in order to appeal to the people most likely to purchase them. We except our target audience VALS REBELS - who wish to make the world in their own image. We want our target audience to be alternative and original to be engaged in various artistic projects and be creative as an individual.
