Crime
There is always more crime in a big city, causing you to think about your decision twice for living in a big city. You are much more likely to be a victim of a crime living in a big city than in a small town. This is because urban cities have more precious property to be stolen, and also unemployment causes people to try to make money in illegal ways.
People and Mentality
Another disadvantage of living in a big city is the unexpected attitude of its citizens. Metropolitan citizens seem not to be as friendly and hospitable as people in the country. Since the majority of people always struggle to deal with personal problems, they barely have time to get to know their neighbors or catch up on others' news. They are so caught up in their own problems that they hardly pay much attention to anyone else. Even the communication among the people in a neighborhood is limited.
Cost of Living
Everything tends to be more expensive in big cities, causing the cost of living to be high. A good example for this is rental prices. The more centric the house is, the higher the rent will be, since it's closer to the services of the city. When considered at the same time with unemployment, this can be a huge problem.

Long traffic jams could be one of the major disadvantages of living in a big city. Many people take the car everyday and it has also been proved that the majority of the families have at least two cars. This means that you have to deal with rush-hour traffic on your way to work and on your way back. In addition, in a big city there is consequently a lot of smog and this can really affect people’s health.
First of all, one of the problems that the people in the urban city has to face is unemployment. In crowded cities, the amount of job opportunities might not be enough for the amount of people. Also, when so many people want to get a job for the same position, obviously not everyone is accepted for the job.
People become jobless and can’t afford their own living and their own family. As the result, the standards of living decrease dramatically causing lower GDP and the economic growth of country is also set back.
Pollution
Another problem of dense population is the pollution, such as: air pollution, water pollution, etc…Big traffic jams cause fumes to be released into the air making it polluted. Tons of garbage, litter that is released from the daily life haven’t been treated make the air and the water become polluted day by day. In addition, the pollution directly affects the health of people.
