The Island by Gary Paulsen
The setting is in modern day Wisconsin near Pine Wood. It is roughly 160 miles from Madison.
The conflict is internal. It is man versus himself. Will keeps feeling this urge to go the island and he obeys it and goes.
Will moves to a new town in Wisconsin, where he discovers an island while biking.
Will becomes obsessed with going to the island to learn about nature and life.
Will decides to camp on the island for a few days. Once it is time to come home he refuses and stays.
Read the book to find out what happens next!
I reccomend this book if you enjoy Nature books. This book does have it's boring parts. If you don't like nature books ddon't read it!!!
 - The two most important characters are Will and Susan.
- Will is the main character and is a high school aged boy who had to move homes and change lifestyles.
- Susan is one of the first people WIll meets and is friendly to him and they develop a great friendship along the way.
One theme I learned is always listen. Listen to people talking to you and It also means listen to your surrondings and be observant of the great things around you.
THe End!
