Five Aspects of my Identity

Friends

Vegetarianism

Friends are an important part of my life. I talk with them about everything; share top secrets and everything in between. My friends influence what I do and sometimes how I act. I sometimes feel more comfortable talking to them than people related to me. I have one best friend, and we have been friends for over 9 years. Being neighbors, there isn't anything we don't do together. To be in my comfort zone, I am surrounded by friends. With my family, we often butt heads and it is easy to argue but I know I can always go to my friends for unconditional, loyal and honest love. I grow and prosper with friends. Everybody would agree that without friends, life would be quite boring. Sometimes teach you, make you learn new things, point out your mistakes and help you rectify them, cheer you up as and when needed, offer you a fresh perspective and always love, care and support you.

I like to think of myself as a healthy person, I work out every day and eat nutritiously. I aim to be a personal trainer and nutritionist one day. Therefore, I need a diet, and a vegetarian diet is in my opinion the easiest to maintain and has some of the best health benefits. I have been a vegetarian for three years and don't plan to stop anytime soon. It influences how I eat and has made me more aware of how people treat animals and how what you eat affects the world. It has become a very big part of my life and my identity.

Family

Interests

Family shapes development and personality. Family protects your dignity and takes care of your well being. I am very close with my family, I would do anything for my mother, father and older sister. I know they are always there for me when I need love, guidance or support. If I didn't have the family that I have now, I don't know what I would do or who I would be.

Music

Music is a part of my life and very important to me. I love county music, electronic dance music, rap and r&b. My boyfriend is a producer/DJ so I often help him when he has events, it helps me get closer to music and bond with him on a different level. I love to party and have a good time, just being myself and music helps me do that. I attend every music event I can and am always listening to something. Music helps me in any situation and can turn my mood around in a second. Resorting to music is something I do often and that makes me who I am today.

Something else that shapes my identity is what I'm interested in, such as sports. Throughout my life I have precipitated in many sports: dance, soccer, wrestling, figure skating, swimming, karate, and gymnastics. I have pushed myself to breaking point, especially with wrestling and dance. Within wrestling, I pushed myself to get to the summer games and could not be more proud. It's hard to believe but I am also a dancer, dancing used to be my entire life. Every day I would dance for three to four hours, sometimes coming home with my feet bleeding and full of blisters, but I kept going. Both of these sports require strength, resilience, and dedication. Without this part of my life, my identity would not be the same.
