The Klickitat believed in one almighty god who created the world and the land for the Indians to use, providing fish and roots for food. It was believed that every object had a spirit, and that when one passed away, they went to an afterlife called the "Happy Hunting Grounds" where everything was restored to full health and perfection. Also, youths would go on a fast during adolescense.

Rivers. They moved onto the Yakama Reservation
in 1855 after signing the Yakama Treaty at Camp Stevens.
The Klickitats carved and painted masks for various spiritual ceremonies to renact legends of brave warriors. They also weaved and dyed baskets with different geometric patterns. These were used to collect roots and to trade with tribes on the Columbia. In addition, they fished for salmon, hunted, and collect wild plant foods such as camas roots.
The Klickitat were well-known traders. They also traded berries, salmon, and roots at Celio Falls.
