Gave the President power to create a board to investigate possible strikes

There were large labor movements following WWII - 25% labor was unionized

1971 when President Nixon invoked the law to end a longshoremen's strike

Made more types of strikes illegal

5 million American workers were involved in strikes, four times longer than those during the war
