Impacts of Technology on Teenagers

Is technology affecting teens negatively or positively?

OR

Are teenagers the ones allowing technology to manipulate them?

  • Teenagers cannot set priorities
  • Teenagers are not growing advanced social and communicative skills
  • Teenagers do not have the self control to have a balanced use of technological devices

Self-Control

Do you control the way you use technology or does technology control you?

Are you practicing your social and communicative skills?

Are you afraid of job interviews so you only look for online job applications?

Have you ever said

you would start doing something important and failed because

technological devices

were too much of a temptation?

Teenagers' Internet Socializing Not A Bad Thing

Teenagers' Socializing Not A Bad Thing : Tamar Lewin

Priorities:

"Students have always faced distractions,

but computers and cellphones

pose a profound new challenge to

focusing and learning." - Kurt (Growing UP

Digital)

"..... two 17 year-olds , dating for more than a year, log on to their computers between getting ready and talk on their cellphones as they go to school. They exchange text messages through the school day. When they get together after school they do homework and play video games. When they leave each other they talk on the phone and end the night with a text."

"My MySpace is always on, and when I get a message on MySpace, it sends a text message to my phone. It's not an obsession; it's a necessity."

Is Google Making Us Stupid? - Nicholas Carr
