Retold by S.E. Scholsser

One day a man came walking down the road with a cage full of canaries, who were chirping and singing songs that was more beautiful then anything the armadillo had ever heard before. The armadillo followed the man and his canaries down the road as fast as he could but soon became tired and fell weary in front of the wizard's door, who lived in the area.

Climax

Armadillo apprehensively approached the wizard at the front of his house saying, "Great wizard, it is my deepest desire to learn to sing like the frogs an the crickets and the canaries." The wizard had realized that the armadillo was being serious and saw the passion in his eyes. With that, the wizard told the armadillo that he could make him sing but having to pay the price would mean death, The armadillo said, with no hesitation, "Then, I want to die right now! I would do anything to be able to sing!"
