Many of the advancements
in the United States during the 1920s
were made to enhance lifestyle. American inventors created things such as the band aid, traffic signal, and frozen food to make living easier and more enjoyable. Television had also started to develop and movie theaters were becoming more and more popular. Americans started having more time
for themselves and the entertainment business began to thrive.

During the early 1900s there was
lots of opportunity for americans
to start a business of their own. Lots of these businesses were profitable because people began to buy things on credit which made it easy for citizens to buy certain valuables before they raised enough money for them.

As lifestyle changes, new businesses,
advances in technology, and population growth started happening in America, large cities began to form to accommodate factories and citizens. The more people that came into the country, the more money the country could make and the more money the country made, the more people wanted to come into the country. It was because of this the urbanization of America happened so quickly.
The United States began to earn a reputation of being a free and prosperous land. From 1900 to 1910 nine million immigrants entered the United States. America's success after the war attracted Polish, Italian, Slavic, Russia, and other European immigrants from countries that did not support Germany in the war. As the population grew jobs were created in factories that had begun to master the assembly line. The assembly line technique created a large amount of jobs that didn't require much additional training because each worker specialized on doing one thing. By the year 1920 the population was twice as large as it had been forty years before.
During the 1850s more then 50% of americans had farming jobs. As big businesses started this number began to drop and by the year 1925 only 22% of these jobs remained. In 1920 the United States were producing one third of the worlds man made goods and thanks to Henry Ford it wasn't much longer until America became the number one producer of automobiles.
