"He's Famouser than me,
But I'm happier than he,
'cause I paint the ones that runs--and flies--and sings!"
Creativity, art, and imagination is what makes the world such a beautiful, lively place. Creativity is often forgotten, but it is an essential aspect of life and existence. Creativity and imagination also makes things interesting. Silverstein also hints throughout the poem that he is referring to himself-- he puts the spots on the leopard and the stripes upon the zebras. There is also could possibly be a reference to God being an artist just like other artists in the world.

"And when the firefly's dim,
I splash silver paint on him,
And he shines more brightly than he did before."
FLAMIN'
Flaming means emitting flames and burning.
It also means intensely ardent or passionate.
COAT
A coat can be an animal's fur coat--> "And add some color to the chipmunk's coat."
It can also be a coat of painting, another layer of dimension.
Painting is the largest metaphor present in the poem. It represents creativity/creators. A painter creates beauty, and so do all other forms of artists such as musicians, poets (Silverstein), dancers.
Another metaphor is Jack Frost. Jack Frost is someone who makes it snow during winter and makes children happy. Yes, he makes it snow which is beautiful, but he doesn't create color and art that gives meaning and life to the world.
FAMOUSER
Silverstein uses the word famouser, which is not a word. This speaks to the theme that imagination and creation (creating your own word) makes things more interesting.
