- When a vehicle passes an ANPR camera its registration number is read and checked against a database of records held at the NADC
- It brings to attention any vehicles of interest

Number Plate Recognition
ANPR- Automatic Number Plate Recognition
is used by the Police to send images/ photos
to the NADC- National ANPR Data Centre.
Data is stored for two years.
There are strict rules about who accesses this data
