Citaion: "Prim’s face is as fresh as a raindrop" (1).
Commentary : Katniss compared Prim to a raindrop, and a raindrop is very precious. Raindrops are also very fragile and delicate. I think that Katniss loves Prim a lot.
Citation :"...light hair and blue eyes" (3).
Citation:"She must have had bad dreams" (1).
Citation: "'No, Katniss! No! You can’t go!'" (8).
Commentary: I think that Prim is a normal 12 year old, meaning that she isn't extra brave, or doesn't have a lot of responsibility, like Katniss. I think so because Prim leaves in the middle of the night, to be comforted about the Reaping Day. I think that Prim is very normal, unlike Katniss.
Katniss loves Prim so much, that she is willing to stay in her worries to be with Prim. Katniss loves Prim, and later in the chapter, Katniss risks her life for Prim. Katniss volunteers for the Hunger Games, which is pretty much a one way road to death.
Quote:"How could I leave Prim, who is the only person in the world I’m certain I love?"(3).
I can infer from this citation that Prim has blonde hair, because Ms. Collins says "light", and blonde is the lightest shade of natural hair for 12 year olds. Also, from the paragraph that this citation is included in, I can tell that Prim is different looking than Katniss.
Commentary: This is the first line that Prim says in the book. I think that the author purposfully included it in the story, so she could express the threat level of the Hunger Games. This line is said right after Katniss volenteers for the Hunger Games.
"But Prim begged so hard, cried even, I had to let him stay" (1).
Commentary: I think that Prim is very kind, and delicate because of what she did. I think that Prim pities people, and is willing to take them in, just like she took in Buttercup. I think that Prim has the power to persuade Katniss.
Citation
"...And then I see her, the blood drained from her face, hands clenched in fists at her sides, walking with stiff, small steps up towards the stage..." (8).
Commentary
"...hands clenched in fists at her sides..." (8).
This citation gives me the idea that Prim is very scared of what's to come. This tells me that Prim is trying to be brave, because she is on TV. This also tells me that Prim is in utter shock.
You can tell that Primrose is shocked, since she walks in tiny steps, towards the stage. This action leads me to think that Prim is either selfless, or a good actor.
Commentary: Even though this is an action, it is very emotional, and I think that Ms. Collins could have made Prim say something, or cry, while doing this movement. Prim has her fists at her side, and this tells me that she is mad. In this case she is mad at a lot -in my opinion- of things such as the fact that she was chosen. She probably was also mad at the government... for making the districts suffer like this.
