Why do Giraffes eat leaves?

They eat leaves off of the Acacia tree and leaves from tall trees.

They are one of the few animals that can eat leaves from trees with thorns. This is because they have a long agile tongue that can wrap around the thorns.

They eat leaves because they need to eat leaves to survive.

Giraffes eat leaves to survive in their environment.
