Victory Garden

On March 1944 Ann Fay Honeycutt and her best friend Peggy Sue were about to run ( turn on ) the tiller before Junior Bledsoe was pulling it out of the shed like it bellonged to him . You would of thought he was going to grow the Victory Garden.

After a hard day of work Ann Fay finds out that Bobby dies and then she gets polio too ! she goes to the

hospital and she get's the bed that is beside a Negro girl! Her name is Imogene Wolfong they then become very best friend's in the contagess ward but when Ann Fay and Imogene Wolfong where no longer contagess they where seperated ! So on one night at 11:00 Ann Fay and Imogene knew how to ride in a wheelchair so they met each other in the middle of the hospital . And about a week later Presedent Franklen Deleono

Roosevelt died from polio then about another 2

week's later Ann Fay when't out of the hospital on

cruches.

Bobby!

On June 1944 Bobby got the cold ! Momma made

Bobby stay in bed for two days . On Thursday it was

like Bobby never had the cold. So Ann Fay made him

and the girls work in the garden but then Bobby

collapsed ! Ann Fay called the doctor and a black

hearse came and took Bobby to the hospital with

Mamma and left Ann Fay in charge .

Funeral

In 1944 that little county called Hickory, men were being sent to war.It was very hard for everybody especially the Honeycutts.For the family had six people,Daddy,Mamma,Ann Fay,Ida,Ellie,and Bobby but with Daddy leaving the family and he might not come home !

Bobby was in the hospital for a while,all I could think about

was Bobby same with the girls, Junior tried to cheer us up

but we didn't . A few days later two women came to are

house,one's name was Dr. Dorothy Horstmann ,and Ms. Frances

Allen .They were there to check out the house and ask some

question's . When they where finished they hammered a quarantine sign and told me to SGRUB everything and burn

Bobby's toy's .
