Most institutions either focus their financial resources on other areas of education, disregarding the importance of new designs of education required to meet the standards of a globalized world, or do not have the resources to move away from the traditional systems of teaching.

GLOBALIZED EDUCATION

Many believe that the interculturalization of education might destroy tradition and custom practices, influencing the students and leading them away from their innate ways.

In 2011, only 24% of american professionals teaching higher education got the chance to experience globalization and internationalization by teaching other institutions abroad

"... the integration of methods put to use in an effort to approach everything that we teach and how we teach it, by broadening horizons and encouraging exploration of all subjects from a global perspective..."

Professionals in charge of teaching the newer generations of students , are no longer qualified. It is safe to say that professors and teachers are not familiarized with the new systems. By ignoring the importance and impact of globalization in education, institutions are fomenting mediocrity and showing obliviousness.

What do the approaches of globalization of education fixate on?

  • Globalized Education reflects on the nature of our societies and responds to the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the students in the classroom.
  • Global Education stimulates curiosity, motivates learning, and thus contributes to the raising of standards.
  • Global Education recognizes the importance and vital needs of expanding the horizons of students through their preparation in education.

Why is it important?

The evolution of education into becoming a more interculturalized and broad institution of learning is inevitable.

The world is changing, and with it, our methods to pass on the information and legacy to the newer groups of leaders and citizens. It is clear and tangible that the generations of students currently enrolled in higher education today, as well as the educators that are directly experiencing these changes, are the ones in charge of molding and shaping new approaches, systems, and programs to tackle the issues of education and its need to advance and develop, in order to benefit the future of our population.

If the way we teach our incoming generations does not correlate with the outside world of professionals and citizens there will be an incredible slope on proficiency in our younger generations. The entire world is molding new information and technology day by day, yet, most of our traditional methods of teaching are intact, not having advanced at all to fit the requirements of this faster world.

Interculturalization as part of Educational Preparation

In today’s age, a person cannot efficiently work if they are unable to interact with people who differ in race, age group, gender, and cultures. Training through an education with a globalization fixation might be the solution for these complications, tackling many issues through unconscious exposure in the classroom.
