The battle of Queenston Heights was on October 13th, 1812 and it took place in Queenston, Ontario, which is now in Upper Canada.
The Americans wanted to attack Niagara to cut off British access. They invaded the town of Queenston. Brock was awoken and gathered a small number of troops. He lead his troops up a hill where he was shot in the chest. His troops retreated but a few hours later the came back with a new Major General in place. They came with reinforcements and with the Haudenosaunee Six Nations and Delaware warriors. The American forces were depleted when some members of the American militia who weren't strong supporters of the war refused to fight on Canada's side of the border.
Queenston Niagara was invaded by the Americans on October 13, 1812. Brock was guarding Fort George. He was awaken by the sound of gun shoots and road his horse to Queenston. Brock took his troops up the hill where he was shoot in the chest and killed. After the death of Brock Major General Roger Hale Sheaffe arrived at the Heights without the Americans knowing with his troops. The American Army were taken down on the Heights by the Mohawk and Delaware warriors. The Mohawk chief John Norton had made a great decision to ascend the escarpment at a feather distance west of Queenston. The Americans surrendered.
The outcome
The British defeated the Americans and won because British troops were at the top of the hill, ready and waiting for their attackers.

Many important people were involved in the Battle of Queenston Heights. Major-general Isaac Brock was involved. He was awakened by the sounds of gunshots and rallied some troops to fight. He ended up dieing but he made an impact. American operations were lead by General Stephen Van Rensselaer. He was a wealthy militiaman. British Major General Roger Hale Sheaffe was also and important member of the Battle of Queenston Heights. He replaced Major General Brock when Brock died and when he did come he brought reinforcements.
There are many different perspectives of the people in involved in the war of 1812, such as; the Americans they were trying to cut off the British peoples pathway and wished to take over Niagara-on-the-lake. The First Nations who were getting killed by the Americans who invaded their village. Lastly the Canadians also had a perspective in which they wondered what the american were doing in their village, while fighting for their own lives and the sake of their country.
