"The truth, sir, is that God's viewpoint is sometimes different from ours. So different that we could not even guess at it unless He had given us a Book which tells us such things."

This describes Corrie's faith in God and that His Word is above any person or thing on earth. She spoke these words to her enemy.

  • Corrie ten Boom was born on April 15, 1892.
  • She was born in Haarlem in the Netherlands.
  • She died on April 15, 1983. She was 91.
  • She was a Dutch Christian
  • She was the youngest in her family.
  • Her family helped many Jews escape from the Nazi's.
  • She became the first licensed female watchmaker in 1924.

"Dear Jesus..how foolish of me to have called for human help when You are here."

My Recommendation..

"When he tells us to love our enemies, He gives the love itself."

"Some knowledge is too heavy for children.

When you are older and stronger you can

bear it. For now you must trust me to carry

it for you."

"There is One Who has them always in His sight, Lieutenant Rahms. Jesus is the Light the Bible shows to me, the Light that can shine even in such darkness as yours."

  • Story begins in Haarlem, Holand
  • Corrie was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance.
  • It opens with the 100th anniversary of the family watch business.
  • The family had strong Christian morals and helped the Jews as much as possible.
  • Corrie suffered moral crisis' that was necessary to keep the Jews alive
  • Corrie sacrificed her own safety and part of her personal room to keep the Jews safe
  • A man asked Corrie to help his wife and she agreed, later to find out he was a spy.
  • The Ten Boom family was arrested, but the Jews stayed well hidden in a secret room.
  • Corrie was sent to a Dutch prison.
  • She later received a secret letter saying "her Jews" were safe.

I enjoyed this book, it was very inspirational. Everyone should read this book at least one time, it will change the way you look at life. I have always enjoyed books about the holocaust but this was one of my favorites.
