Zamindars Fall

The Emperor Akbar created a new taxation system to increase money and centralize power of the government. He made peasants sell crops at a state monitored market, then use their earnings to pay taxes to the state.

What were Zamindars

Zamindars Rise

Zamindars were local officials in Mongul India who received a plot of land to collect taxes, ususally from peasants.

Money to the state began to fall because the Zamindars started keeping more than 10% of the peasants' crops they were using to pay taxes, and giving the rest to the government.
