The History

They usually lived in New York and they still lives in New York. They has nearly 8,000 citizens of the Seneca tribe. 'Seneca' is named to make a difference with other six nation. Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca and Tuscarora is a six nations.

They did farming and had a foods such as corn, beans. The early Senecas had a hunters and fishers. Women had to do all of the farm working and making ownerships of family. They used mud, corn, husks and twigs. As they are in different tribe, they used different materials for making things.

The culture

Today, Seneca tribe uses English but some of them are still using their old language. The language that was used before is being ignored by the new generation. The Seneca tribe language is known as Great hill people.
