Plebeians and Patricians were allowed to get married.

The Plebeians and the Patricians were involved in the Conflict of Orders which was a struggle between the classes. The plebeians thought it was unfair that the Patricians had more freedom and rights. The plebeians fought for their political rights in this debate.

Before the Conflict of Orders things were different in the Senate. After the Plebeians revolted and gained their rights everyone was allowed to be chosen to be in the Senate and had the same power and say in the government.

How they are the same

Many new laws were passed by the Plebeian Council because the procedures were simpler than the Senate.

One of Rome´s famous senators, Cicero, was a Plebeian. He was the first of his family to be elected as senate and he was called a ¨New Man.¨
