Things didn't go very well until he created an instant hit with Cabaret in 1966

However his another bad streak in 1981 with Merrily We Roll Along

Over all he is famous for his work as an amazing Broadway producer and director

Early in his career he worked under Abott and became his protege

Worked as a stage manager on Broadway in the 1950's
