Funny video, right?
Yes; of course. But, just because this video might seem hilarious does not justify commenting anything you want. Be respectful! Remember that this is an actual person with actual feelings, and that though videos like these can be made and used for entertainment purposes, the person(s) in the video should be treated with respect.
Kevin could go to a trusted adult or an authority figure at his school to get the video taken down. But once something is on the internet, it never really leaves. The video spreads to YouTube, Vine, and other websites. Kevin would be upset, but he wouldn't be able to do much about it.
This is part of the reason why it is essential not to post videos or pictures without the owner's permission. This
will help to prevent cyberbullying, because the media would not be on a site to be criticized anyway.
Millions of people view Kevin's video and post cruel comments about it. Kevin checks the sharing website every day, seeing the nasty comments, and his feelings are hurt.
Kevin makes a video of himself reenacting a famous fantasy movie scene; he sends it to his friend, Jose.
Many people may begin to cyberbully as a means of relieving stressed lives. Some do not realize how, or even if this destructive activity affects anyone else. Some don't care if it does or not.
So next time you click to comment, like/dislike a post, or to post something online, be mindful. Don't say anything you wouldn't in real life, and most importantly:
SHOW RESPECT!
Kevin's story leads us into how we can prevent cyberbullying in the first place.
Jose thinks the video is funny, and he shows it to some of his friends at school. They think it is funny as well and decide to post it to a video sharing website.
