The parts of a plot include the exposition, conflict, rising actions, climax, falling actions, resolution.
The exposition is the beginning of a plot (story) which the author uses to introduce the characters, conflict and the setting.

Falling actions are events after the climax that lead towards a resolution.
They are the events between the climax and the end of the story.

The resolution is made up of those events which finish the story. It is the end when all the problems are solved (normally).

Climaxes normally involve:
1- Strong emotions: excited, angry, happy or sad.
2- The conflict is solved.
3.The action is at its highest point.
It exposes (shows) the following parts of the story:
the setting (the where and when)
the main characters (the who)
the background (the what [is happening])
the problem (the why)
