Analysis vs. Summary

Summary

Analysis

The Difference

The difference between analysis and summery is that a summery is just a recall of events and characters whereas an analysis contains tie ins from the time period to the writers style to the characters actions all to give you the answer of WHY they are doing what they're doing.

Definition:

A summary is a short statement about the major points of something.

An analysis is a detailed examination of the structure and/or elements of something. This is usually used as a basis for discussion or interpretation.
