Miguel Corte Real was a 16th century Portuguese explorer who partook in sailing expeditions to the North Atlantic. He is also known for exploring the North American coast.
Miguel's ship was mainly made by wood. It had cannons and flags. There are also lots of ropes and big sails with a red cross on it.
What dates did he travel in?
He traveled to either Greenland and Newfoundland in 1500.

Miguel was born at the Kingdom of Portugal on 1448.

What was the route they took?
Miguel left Portugal, explored the bottom part of Greenland and went back to his country. In search of his brother, he traveled past Greenland, found the side of Canada, saw Newfoundland and got lost in the sea.

Miguel was looking for his older brother Gaspar, but Miguel got lost at the sea. The two ships with Miguel returned to Portugal after they were separated.
