Narrator and Voice
The voice of the book is first person who is CeeCee Honeycutt.You can see and hear what they are thinking in their minds opposed to not knowing what the character thinks in their mind.
The narrator is reliable because she will tell you how he thinks and will also tell you things she wouldn't say out loud to the other characters. You can trust her to be a good narrator and tell you everything that's going on in their minds and lives.
The tone of the book was in first person because you can see and hear what the narrator is thinking that she may not say out loud to other characters.

Motivation
CeeCee is 12 years old and she has lost her mom when she got hit by a ice cream truck. She is gacing many difficult struggles through her young life. A lot of people were involved in her moms death. Her dad, relatives, and neighbors. The things that motivate her is her aunt Tootie. She motivates her to live life and not look at the past but look into the future.
All these characters motivate her because they all tell her that she will have a successful life and be a mature girl when she gets older. They all elp her and they really showed they cared. Even though a couple of the characters were flat and static, they still took a big part in her life by helping her become the person she is now.
This really motivate's CeeCee to start a new chapter in her life and moving forward and not looking back at all the bad things that have maybe happened to her in the past but to start fresh and be happy and not have to feel guilty for her mom getting killed by and ice cream truck.
All this motivates the main character which is CeeCee Honeycutt.
She goes through a lot in her life and has to find ways to make her life easier so that way she doesn't think to much of her mom and the past she's left behind her. She now has to start her life in Savannah Georgia.
Antagonist
The antagonist is CeeCee's dad because he could have raised her himself but he chose not to and send her away from her life from once she grew up since she was born. She already had a hard life as it was and he decided to send her away and send her away from the past in which she could remember her mother and how she raised her. Now she has to leave all that behind because he never was there for her when she was younger and her mom was the only one who raised her and showed that she cared fo her.
Subordinate Characters
Aunt Tootie- She was the relative in CeeCee's family but she never had met her till her until her dad had called her to come pick her up so that she could go live with her and have a better life than she already had.
Protagonist
Camille- She was CeeCee's daughter who had a mental illness and she was crazy the older she got. She had won a beauty pageant a long time ago before CeeCee was born and she always wanted to win another and be happy all the time. But she was never happy because she couldn't get into another pageant because she thought she was to old and not beautiful anymore. She always told CeeCee that one day she would be like her and win a pageant and be happy like she was a long time ago but CeeCee didn't want to be like her. She didn't like pageants like her mom did. She wanted to live her own life.
The protagonist is CeeCee Honeycutt which is the main character of the story.
CeeCee's dad- He always fought with her mom because she spent to much money and always told her to not do that because they already don't have a lot of money to be spending. He always came home, drank beer, sat on the couch, then left for the night to go somewhere. He never stayed home anymore, and after his wife died, he decided to call a relative and have CeeCee live with them at their huse in Savannah.

Aunt Tootie is a round and dynamic character. She is very open about her feeling and shows that she really cares for CeeCee because she is family and feels like she has known her forever but they just met after her other died.
Camille is a flat and static character. She doesn't really tell you how she's feeling and the narrator doesn't really tell us how she feels like if she's depressed or stressed out. They give very little detail of whats going on in her mind. So, you don't really know what she's thinking or how she is really feeling.
CeeCee's dad is a flat and static character. He doesn't do much and the narrator never told us how he felt either. We couldn't know what was going on in his mind and know what he's thinking. He doesn't do much in the book to know what he's like other than just going home, drinking beer, and leaving the house every night.
CeeCee Honeycutt
CeeCee's life gets easier the longer she lives in Savannah Georgia.
Aunt Tootie treats her very well and shows that she cares for her even though they haven't known each other fr that long, but she feels like she has known her forever.
CeeCee finds out that her neighbor who she always hung out with, had passed away. She knew she was old and that one day she would go and that she would have to say good bye to her.
Basic situation-
CeeCee Honeycutt lives with her mom and dad in a small house.
CeeCee's dad is always complaining on how much money her mom Camielle spends at the Goodwill store.
Camielle gets very sick and can't remember a lot of the things in her life. She is also obsessed with being a beauty queen.
CeeCee's parents are always fighting about money.
At the end, she has had a long and hard life but she knew aunt Tootie had treated her well and that she knew her mom would be proud of her up in heaven and that she was looking down on her very proud of CeeCee. CeeCee had a hard life, but she had people in her life that she knew helped her and motivated her to keep moving up in life.
She also knew that her neighbor had taught her to start new chapters in her life and remember the old ones as happy times because it made her what she is today.
