The American real estate want to buy the land from him and they are willing to pay.

Don Anselmo owns a large part of land on the out skirts of Rio en Medio.

They agree on a price, but when they ask if Don Anselmo wants more money because he can get twice the amount since he has twice the amount of land. He turns them down and takes the original amount and leaves.

They start to build the house and they get it done in about a month. A couple months later, people move in to the house.

The people call to complain that the kids come and play under their trees, so the real estate agency sets up another meeting with Don Anselmo.

Don Anselmo comes in and they talk.

When they tell Don Anselmo that the kids are playing under the trees and ask him if he could get them to stop, Don Anselmo tells them that he planted a tree for every newborn baby since he became the village elder.

He says that he does not own those trees, so he could not sell them to the agency.
