What the people thought of louis riel
Louis has been made out to be a hero or a villain but we are here to explain all the reason why louis riel is a hero not a villian.
The Saskatchewan Metis requested land grants were all provided by the government by the end of 1887, and the government resurveyed the Metis river lots in accordance with their wishes. The Métis did not understand the long term value of their new land, however, and it was soon bought by speculators who later turned huge profits from it. Louis Riel's worst fears were realised.
First off Louis Riel was made out to be a traitor to Canada but he was no traitor. He was a patriot who stood up for his people and his beliefs. He was also a victim of prevailing prejudices of his time. He did what he thought was right and did it for himself and people.

Louis Riel was born in 1844 in Saint-Boniface, in the Red River Settlement. His father, jean Louis Riel, a businessman and political leader in the Metis community organized a large Metis resistance to the Hudson’s Bay Company fur trading monopoly at the trial of Pierre Guillaume Sayer in 1849. Riel’s political legacy likely influenced his son, who left Red River at a young age to study in Québec.
What we think of Louis Riel
The End of Louis Riel
Louis Riel devoted the entirety of his life to ensuring that the Metis nation was taken seriously and seen as its own body of government apart from Canada. While his efforts were not without success, the Metis peoples did eventually lose their land rights and the prosperity that came with it. Louis Riel spent a large part of his life wanted by the police and eventually surrendered after many years of fleeing, hiding, and fighting. Louis Riel was charged with treason, sentenced to death, and eventually hanged in Regina on November 16 1885.
We think that Louis Riel did not deserve to be hanged and sentenced to death in our eyes he was a hero no traitor becasue what he did was for himself and everyone who stood by him no villian whould have a Stachu for them selfs.
