Marathon of Drawing Exercises
Every couple days, you will practice drawing from life using a different technique. You will turn in your best drawing from each technique. After we get through all the exercises, you will choose one to use as your inspiration of a still life of your choice.
In case you didn't get that:
- I'm setting up still-lifes.
- You will draw them differently every couple days.
- You will turn in one drawing per technique, good or bad.
- THESE ARE EXERCISES.
- Don't be hard on yourself. They are meant to improve your seeing and drawing ability, not to necessarily produce awesome drawings.
- If you don't like the technique, guess what. You only have to do it for two days. Then, you'll try something else.
- The final part of this unit is you creating your own still life and drawing it using the technique of your choice.
Negative Space
- Negative space is the area around an object.
- Drawing the negative space can make it easier to get the overall shape of the actual subject of drawing.
