It is important because their first son Rıcheu was born. It is also one of the reason of Anja's depression.

• Maus:

War effects everyone in a bad way. It is harmful for both sides.

• How does our chapter play a part in that?

It is the beginning of everything. It is when disagreement turned into a war.

• Protogonist: Anja and Vladek because they are Jews. Eventough they didn't do anything Nazis are insulting them.
• Dialogue: We can see Spigeleman used it everhywhere in the book.
• Flashback: The whole story about Holocaust is flashback.

• Main character: Vladek and Artie are the main characters because the story is about them.

It is one of the important moments because it is the Anja's internal conflict.

• In page 28 and 29 we learned that we learned that Vladek hated communists. It shows that he was a bit racist.
• We can see that Anja is very shrewd from page 30 because she gave the papers to the seamstress so she didn't get caught. So we can understand that Anja gets along with people well.
• We learnt that Vladek is very stubborn in page 31.
• Anja gets so depressive in page 33. Vladek tries to help her in page 36 and 37. We can see that Vladek loves her very much and he can do everything for her.

Plot Structure

Maus is a graphic novel about the Holocaust. It was written by Art Spiegelman who is also a character in Maus.

Maus has two stories inside it. One of them is present and one of them takes place at past.

MAUS

It's the end of the exposition and beginning of rising action because at the page 40 Vladek said that he will go to a differnt direction which is the frontier against Germany. This is when everything started.

We can say it's the exposition because it explains the situation before the war.

We can also say that it's rising action because they saw Nazi flag and they saw who holded a signboard which was written I am a filthy Jew. Nazis looked him like he is an unnecessary creature. These all shows that war will start.

Conflict(s)

There are three main conflicts in our chapter.

• Conflict between Anja and Vladek beacuse of her communist activity.(external)

Vladek hates communism and always tries to keep himself away from communist people.

• Anja 's conflict with herself. (internal)

She has a depressive personality.

• Divercity between Nazis and Jews started to shown up. (external)

It is the beginning of the war.
