-The interruption did not continue for very long before the Bolsheviks reconquered the Don and Kuban Cossack region.

The Ending

-On November 7, 1920, Bolshevik leader Vladimir lenin issued his first decree, declaring Russia to be at peace.

Decossackization

Decossackization

-Decossackization was the Bolshevik policy of repressions against the Don and Kuban Cossacks between the years of 1919 and 1920.

-Policy brought up by the Bolshevik Party on January 24, 1919. This policy ordered local branches to carry out mass terror against any of the Cossacks taking part in any struggle against the Soviet Power.

-There were many massacres of "Cossack Hostages" by regular troops of the Red Army. Within a few weeks, 8,000 Cossacks were executed.
