There are not any specific restrictions on DXM, or any abusive cough medicine in New Hampshire. Yet, the Stop & Shop franchise has passed a law in the towns of Hudson, Milford, Bedford and Peterborough, to restrict sales of cold and cough medicines containing dextromethorphan, a synthetically-produced ingredient in a number of over-the-counter products. Only people 18 and older will be allowed to purchase medications containing the drug.
