The Nipissing First Nations Tribe.

What Did The Nipissing Eat?

The Nipissing are hunter gatherers and farmers.They gather plants like nuts, wild berries, tubers,and farm wild rice.They also hunt meat such as whale, beaver, moose, raccoon,seal and caribou.

Men hunt and fish, and were also the chiefs. Women stay back to farm and gather food such as berries, nuts, tubers and other edible plants. Women also harvest wild rice in the Fall and make maple syrup in the Spring.

They lived in a house like tipi called a wigwam.Their habitat was in the St.Lawrence Lowlands.

They're spiritual beliefs,beliefs in a primary spirit or an mating force. They had feasts to celebrate special occasions through out the year.They form conferences that were not like the Iroquois. The largest political unit is called a village-band. There is one chief per village-band.
