I'm going to start out by saying that I am... scared. Honest to God. This will be my fourth team in 3 years, and I am desperate to find a home. What I want? I want a team that I will be able to be a part of, and belong to. Not just for this year, but for many years to come.
My long term goal: I want to be able to take control of my mind during games and practices. I still find myself lacking confidemce when I'm up to bat, and let my emotions get the better of me. To accomplish this, I am working on visualizations, and a slower more focused way of hitting off the tee and soft toss.
Short term goals: become a solid team. I'm not saying we all have to be BFF's, but we have to accept and support each other as team members. I believe that that is the first step.
Long term: As relationships begin to establish, let's stay away from the DRAMA. It tears teams apart, and we all know it, so let's stay away from it.
There are a lot og things I want to be able to accomplish physically.
1. I want to get faster (base-running)
2. Throw to be stronger, more accurate (throwdowns)
3. Improve flexibility for first base
These are my "textbook" goals, all short term as the season begins. I'm doing PIYO at least 4 times a week to improve flexibility, balance, and strength without worsening my knees
Get to know the girls, and let them get to know me.
I am naturally a very guarded person, and that distances me from other people. Let's call it the "Wall" that I put up to keep people out so that I don't get hurt. It's my tactical line of defense. My goal is to let the wall come down, and let people see me, and to be willing to get to know other people. This is short term because it officially starts tomorrow when I get to "re-meet" the girls, and is long-term, because well, we have a long year ahead of us.
