by Michael Mochulski

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis(MS) is an autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack the nervous system. MS is caused by a mutation in the TNFRSF1A gene and usually shows up between ages 20 to 40. MS causes phantom sensations all over the body as well as trouble with muscle control.

Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia

Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia(MEN) is a disorder caused by multiple mutations of the CDKN1B gene that results in many tumors in main parts of the endocrine system. These areas include the thyroid, located in the neck, and various lymph nodes throughout the body.

Noonan Syndrome

Noonan Syndrome is a defect in the production of the K-Ras protein. Noonan Syndrome is caused by multiple mutations in the KRAS gene. Noonan syndrome can cause developmental problems in the organs, tissue, and skeleton.

Lung Cancer

KRAS (12p12.1)

Lung Cancer

Lung Cancer is a deadly condition that is caused by many different things including mutations in the KRAS gene. Lung Cancer is a cluster of uncontrollably dividing lung cells that can cause major problems. The mutations in the KRAS gene cause a change in the amino acid glycine. This deformed glycine causes proteins to work improperly. These then cause the cancer.
