The song that most reflects an apathetic tone was, "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars. This song fits well with the tone word, apathetic because he starts the song out by saying, "Today I don't feel like doing anything, I just wanna lay in my bed." Right away one can identify the tone in his lyrics because of the phrase "don't feel like doing anything" where he seems to be very unmotivated and is lacking enthusiasm. Unmotivated is a synonyms for the word "Apathetic."
"You lose if you snooze" is another way of saying "You snooze, you lose." This means that anyone could miss out on a great opportunity if they dont remain aware. In this case, this couple isn't aware of the fact that its election day, since they seem to be in a deep sleep. This cartoon has an apathetic tone because it shows that they have no interest or concern for the election since they're sleeping.
In the poem The Lazy Day, the poet, Sabrina Robillard uses laziness and lack of motivation to reflect the tone word "apathetic." When she says, "I think about all my todo's, then huff, it isn't fair!...I huff and puff and drink my joe, then get on my lazy feet I say "Just forget it!"Then plop back on my seat." She couldn't care less about her "Todo's" due to her lack of motivation to get up.
Apathetic means, showing or feeling no interest, enthusiasm or concern.
Synonyms: unmotivated, unconcerned, disinterested etc.
In the short story Apathetic Flesh, the writer reflects an apathetic tone throughout. It is shown when he says, "at an ancient and creaking twenty-seven years of age, the movies – horror, splatter, or otherwise – no longer seem to have any effect on you...‘Well, that was fun,’ you say to no one as you step into the aisle and make for the glowing green EXIT." In this short story, the author compares what it was like watching a movie as a child vs. as a twenty-seven year old. He has an apathetic tone when describing this because he makes it clear to the readers, his lack of interest and enthusiasm with watching movies as an adult when he says "The movies no longer seem to have any effect on you."
After looking at all four pieces, I've noticed that two out of four of the pieces, the song and the poem, were about laziness and lack of motivation. The other two pieces, the cartoon and the short story, talked about lack of interest. All four of the pieces however reflected the tone word, "apathetic" very well even though they weren't all about the same subject.
