It was common in northern Europe to start off the day with a shot of brandy. Brandy was very popular for its ability to intoxicate faster than beer or wine.
The rich had a complete and healthy diet. Ice Cream and cheese covered the dairy section. Bread was readily available for their grain, and vegetables were available only because of the amount of money they had. Farm animals like pigs and cows are what they ate for meat. Onions and porridge were also included in their diet.
