The science and technology of the Incan empire developed over time. They used and took over the roads of older civilizations, most likely through conquest This greatly increased the mobility of messages and people through the Inca empire.

The Incans also built huge stonework buildings of enormous scale out of only rock, cut so precisely that the rock fit together. As time went on, these structures became larger and more daring.

What changes occurred for Incan Science and Technology?

The Inca Empire lasted from about 1100 CE to 1533 CE, a reign of 433 years that ended with the death of the last Inca king, Atahualpa.

The Incas effected the region in many ways with their Science and Technology.

One of the most obvious of these ways is the first suspension bridge, which was built across a ravine by the Incas.

They also built stone buildings using no mortar, instead only using stones cut so well they fit together perfectly.

A quipu is a system of knotted ropes used to keep records. They require extensive training to be able to understand them. Quipus included many variables, using color, knot placement, and knot type as important indicators of various things.

What other technology did the Incans have?

They had their own calendar, where a year was 12 months, a month was three weeks, and a week was ten days.

THey also had no taxes and instead simply worked toward the good of all.

Anyone caught harming the "public good" was severely punished .

The Incas had many advanced scientific and technological ideas, especially for such an old civilization.

Some of these included terrace farming, aqueducts, and the first suspension bridge.
