Climate

(Unique!)

New Haven Unified School District

Union City is divided by the 880 Freeway creating two different "sides" of the City with 2 prominant 'barrios' Alvarado and Decoto. Conley is on Mission Blvd. in Hayward, closer to Decoto but 'away' enough to be neutral to gangs. Conley has not seen a fight in over six years. Students are there to learn and quickly fall in love with the small classroom sizes and personalized education plans. Most students come from low-income households and Conley allows them a space to be seen, heard, and understood. Small campus provides staff and administration ability to communicate effectively and provide more opportunity for campus events that focus on building community.
