Southwest Indian Ridge

Where does it Start/End?

The Southwest Indian Ridge extends from the Rodrigues Triple Point in the southern Indian Ocean to the Bouvet Triple Junction in the south Atlantic.

How does a Ridge work?

Where is this?

What is this and why is it important to us?

The Southwestern Indian Ridge is located under the African plate and over the Antarctic plate. It separates these continental plates. The Southwestern Indian Ridge is expanding (just like all of the other ridges)

The southwest Indian Ridge is a divergent tectonic plate boundary, and of course a ridge. Ridges are one of the most important causes for the creation and destruction of pangea, and for continental drift.
