Before Renaissance

The Church told people about the bible because it wasn't in the peasants launguage so the church explained it to the peasants making it so the peasants cant think for themselves. (When it comes to religious beleifs of course).

Causes of Change

The Black Death killed a lot of people and because of that there would be the peasants revolt which started because the king had less people meaning less choices, meaning common people started to become more important because of their skills.

The Big Picture

The Renaissance was a way to bring back thinking and knowledge and wisdom.

The Spread of Ideas

One way they used to spread ideas was a printing press, to copy books for faster and cheaper plus more books and more importantly bibles.

Another way was when the wealthy people had meetings and shared their books plus knowledge with each other.

What was the Renaissance and how did the exchange of ideas and knowledge during this time period form the basis of our western worldview?

Some things that we kept or have the same ideas because of the Renaissance are:

For Example. the printing press (Receipts, books, newspapers, calendars, packages...) or the telescope (we now know about the solar system) or 3D art (we can now paint or draw in 3D) such as the mona lisa (she has no eyebrows).

Savonarola:A religeous

man who was burned to

death because he got

others to burn their

treasures.

Johannes Gutenberg:A

famous man who invented

the printing press.

About: Both exploration and expansionism lead to imperialism because people would fight for certain land (crusades) which made them more powerful.

Leonardo da Vinci:A very

famous artist made (3D)

paintings in perspective.

fabrics like silk.

Imperialism: Getting more power over a territory, including its people and resources.

Renaissance: The renewing

of wisdom and knowledge.

who reformed the

catholic church.

Expansionism: The behaviour of an area whose goal is to expand its power and territory.
