THE WEAK FORCE

So which one is the dominant force on Earth?
is an attractive force that acts upon all objects that possess mass
is the force experienced by any charged particle
is an attractive force responsible for quarks and gluons sticking together
The Weak Force allows quarks to change flavour
Most people believe that Gravity is the dominant force on Earth...
If it were, then the computer on your table would fall straight through your table and onto the ground, you wouldn't be able to lift your fingers to type and the roof over your head would very quickly collapse on top of you
It turns out that Electromagnetism is actually the dominant force on Earth. It holds atoms together to form the molecules that form all of the objects around (and within) us.
However, it is not the strongest of the 4 forces
As it turns out, gravity is actually the weakest of all the forces. It only becomes dominant over large (Star sized) distances and even then, only when there is a large amount of mass present
The strong force is the strongest of the 4 fundamental forces however, only operates over very short distances.
The strong force is responsible for holding atomic nuclei together despite the repulsive forces between protons.
The weak force is, ironically, not the weakest force. It, like the strong force, only operates over short distances but is responsible for particles being able to change flavour.
Without the weak force, the fusion processes that occur in our Sun wouldn't work.
