Huckleberry Finn Map
Location: St. Petersburg
Huck begins life in a small town named St. Petersburg. He lives with the Widow Douglas and was somewhat civilized. He joins a “gang of robbers” and ends up meeting his dad. His dad only wants Huck's money and ends up kidnapping him into the woods. Huck ends up faking his own death and runs away on a raft to a small island.
Location-This happens between Cairo and
Columbus, but closer to Columbus.
Event- Jim and Huck are arguing over language
Context-Huck is arguing with Jim about an ilogical topic and they
both end up mad at each other, after this happens Huck goes
to Jim and ask for forgiveness.
Reason-Most people that read the
book would say this is the climax because it shows that huck
starts to count Jim as an equal in the hostile and racist era
that was for black people.

Location-At the end of Ch 17 a few miles up the river from the
Grangerdford house.
Event- Huck lies to grown men for Jims well being
Context-Huck and Jim come upon the Grangerdford
house. When this happens, the Grangerdsford ask Huck if
he comes alone on that boat or if he comes with a black person.
Huck protects Jim by saying that he is with his father and that his
father is sick with the fever. After he says this the men on shore
didnt even want to check the vessel for a black person.
Importance This shows how Huck starts to protect jim as the
journey progresses.

Location-It takes place at the Vicinity of Wilks House where they have Jim
Locked up.
Event- Huck frees Jim because they have him locked up because he
is a runaway slave
Context-Jim goes missing from the raft while
Huck accompanies the King into town. When he comes back Jim
Jim was gone. Huck leaves the Duke and King to go and look for
him, When he finds Jim he is locked up in a small shack outside
a house on a farm. He starts to make a plan to let Jim escape
from there and live like a free person. At the end he frees Jim
and this shows that he over comes the rascist prejudice of that
time and now counts Jim as a close friend to Him
Importance- This shows how Huck ends up overcoming the prejudice
and racist enviorment that he was living in and counting Jim as a dear
Friend.

Location: Before Greenville (vicinity of Wilk House)
Event: Huck does not see the point in telling Jim that the duke and the dauphin are fakes.
Context: Jim is referred to as runaway slave and has to spend night watches moarning and crying for his family he left behind, and Jim still doesnt have the guts to tell that this two white guys are a scam, but because Huck feels threatened by them he keeps his mouth shut.
Importance: This shows how Huck cared for Jim even if he had to keep terrible things from Jim that could have caused him suffering.

Location: Several days away from Greenville.
Event: After losing Jim Huck wants to write a letter to Mrs. Watson but then she would sell Jim anyway so he decides to free Jim at any cost and even rejects the principles like religion that white people have tought him to believe in.
Context: After studying the characteristics that they have given him Huck knew it ws the duke that sold Jim to the Phelps and in an answer to this act Huck is determined to rescue Jim no matter what may come upon him.
Importance: This shows that Huck has matured in many ways and that he cares too much for Jim and he thinks that even hell is better than the society he currently lives in.

Location: between Compromise and Memphis
Event: Jim and Huck meet the duke
and the king
Importance- Tom and Huck basically go back to being at the mercy of white men
Context- Tom and Huck had just escaped from the world of ignorant and abussive white men when they meet the duke and the king, that could at any moment sell them out, and this reminds them of the environment they had just escaped
Location- Jackson's Island
Event- Jim and Huck find the corpse of a man
Importance- The corpse is in fact Huck's father
Context-it's a turning point for Huck's life
and you couldsay that Jim becomes a
paternal figure

Event- Huck stumbles upon Jim
Importance- This is the start of their adventures and friendship
Context- Jim is seemingly alone in the island when he meets Jim and discovers that Jim has escaped like him and is now a fugitive
