beaches

how are beaches formed

by: Arnav Nawani

what colors are beaches

Beaches are mainly created from tides and ocean currents that come up over the land. The repetitive motion of the tides coming in and going out causes weathering and erosion of the land and rocks, and then it deposits sand, shells and seaweed on the shore.

Depending on the type of sediment that makes up the sand, beaches can come in many different colors such as: white, gray, gold-yellow, brown, red and black.
