We were in Siberia mapping the landscape when we came across this man half buried in snow we took pictures and mapped our locations we would be able to find him later.

Formation

The man had been persevered under a tree and the roots protected him from the snow enough so the he could still be here. When the tree fell the man was brought back up to the crust of the earth. In the summer the man would be unfrozen and just sitting in the woods. It was these summer months that allowed him to stay like this for such a long time

Excavation

Murder Mystery

digging him out of the snow was a

hard and laborious process because he was very old. his bones were brittle because of the extreme temperature. It took four days to dig him out because the earth was so hard. After we dug him out we kept digging around where found him to find more evidence

Dating

When we got him back to the lab we Radiocarbon dating because he was once living and was to old to figure his age out any other way. It turned out he had been sitting there for three thousand years! We were so lucky to have the tools to do a radiocarbon scan on him.

Interpretation

From all the information we found we think that he was mauled by a tiger. He was sleeping one night, a tiger came up to him and killed him instantly. The tiger left him for later but couldn't find him, so he sat there rotting for three thousand years.
