Weaknesses of Poland

IN CONCLUSION...

A threat ,

Regression of higher private education is an issue in modern day Poland.

  • the unemployment rate in poland is 26% (compared to the U.S's 5.5%)
  • ONLY 4.7% of adults participate in lifelong learning (compared to the EU average of 9.35%)
  • ONLY 67.5% of children is participating in early childhood education (compared to the EU average of 92.3%)

Fun Facts:

Its a polish norm to eat pizza with ketchup.

Weaknesses of The United States

The number of students enrolling in school and the number of private schools still open is slowly decreasing due to the large amount of 'poor' students who can make the cut but not pay for the classes.

While Poland leads the world in many secondary edcuational ways, we can see that the U.S has a slightly better grasp on post graduate planning. ( as in the amount of people who get jobs or persue further education after highschool is at a higher percent)

The Polish alphabet consists of 32 letters (with the english containing only 26)

Polish people come off : cold. Reserved. Miserable. Angry. They dont smile. In poland , a smile is the equivalent to a laugh, so smiling at someone could be the same as laughing at them. Its also important to only smile when its needed, it could be considered flirtatious.

  • each state follows its own curriculum , which sometimes leads to differing standards among students
  • the rising cost of tuition had led to a decline in students who pursue higher education

Poland is ranked 4th in Europe & 10th worldwide in Education.

Strengths Of the United States

The Order in which the children attend schools and the age of the children is practically the same as in the U.S . With a few more competence, and placements tests here and there as an exception.

An opportunity,

  • The U.S education system does not encourage dropping out in any situation, therefore they maintain higher retention rates when compared to other countries
  • The United states has the highest number of world class learning institutions covering all major and minor disciplines

Since polish children who have gone through secondary education have learned a second language, the amount of jobs and places they may travel to, is much greater compared to the Uni-lingual average american student who is not required to know a foriegn language.

The United States is ranked 14th in the world, right behind russia.

While the standard for education in Poland may exceed the U.S, we still beat the herd in a few ways.

For Example: 8 out of the top ten colleges and universities in the world are american.

Strengths of Poland

  • The Polish Education System Focuses more on the individual development of each child
  • Polish Children Learn one foreign language , since it is part of the curriculum
  • There are many more standard/competency tests a student must take in their 'elementary years', this forces the best-of-the-best to strive to pass and the ones who fall behind are weeded out earlier on

Poland vs. United States
